This page explains how "Katana Screener" (the "Service") handles user information.
Numeric screening, including "Search yourself", works without an account. Your conditions, favorites, and saved copies of AI judgments are stored in your browser. The information described under "Record of screen use" below is recorded on the operator's servers.
"Search with AI" requires an account. When you register, we collect your email address (and, if you sign up with Google, the email address and display name provided by Google).
Payments for paid plans are processed by Stripe. The Service does not collect or store your card number. The Service stores the status of your plan (plan type, period, scheduled cancellation, etc.) and the identifiers of your customer and subscription records at Stripe.
Conditions, custom metric formulas and favorite stock codes saved while signed in are stored with your account so you can recall them from another device. "Save result" also stores qualitative conditions, company judgments, judgment dates and the reports and evidence used. We use this saved content to save and restore your searches. A local copy is retained for synchronization. Signing in does not automatically import your earlier device saves into the account.
To understand how the Service is used and improve it, we record screen use on the operator's servers: the name of the site you came from, the screens and tabs you open, and, when you open results in "Search yourself", the conditions and the formulas of any custom metrics used there, and the details of errors that occur on the page. Visitors are told apart by a random number stored in your browser; no cookies are used. We do not record IP addresses or anything you type before sending it. While you are signed in, this record is tied to your account, and it is also linked to earlier records from the same browser before you signed in.
To prevent the free AI credit from being claimed repeatedly, we store your IP address only after converting it, with a server-side secret key, into a value that cannot be turned back into the address. The IP address itself is not stored. We may also use Cloudflare Turnstile (a check that the user is a person) to prevent automated mass sign-ups.
Account, subscription, and usage information, your "Search with AI" usage history, and the record of screen use are stored in Supabase (database and authentication service). Account saves, including searches, judgments, custom metrics and favorites, are stored in Cloudflare D1. The Service runs on Cloudflare.
Your "Search with AI" usage history is kept while your account exists. Account saves are retained until you delete them or request account deletion. The record of screen use is deleted two years after it is recorded.
The Service uses the following analytics tools to understand usage. Both were chosen because they do not use cookies or do not identify individual visitors.
Collected information is used only to provide the Service (sign-in, AI features, payments, usage limits), prevent abuse, respond to inquiries, and improve the Service.
The Service does not sell or provide users' personal information to third parties. As described above, processing is entrusted to Stripe, Supabase, Cloudflare, Google (for Google sign-in), OpenAI, and TypeSafe AI only as needed to provide the Service.
To have your account and related information deleted, contact us from your registered email address. We will delete it, including your "Search with AI" usage history, saved searches, judgments, metrics and favorites, and the record of screen use tied to your account, except for records such as payment history that must be kept by law.
This policy may change as features are added. Changes take effect when they are posted on this page.
